- John B. Tennison owned land in Caswell Co., NC as early as 1797 and purchased land in Caswell Co., as late as 1815. The rest of Ignatius Family moved in 1811 to Green Co., KY John B Tennison family did not move to Green Co., KY until 1817. The 1820 Census of Green Co., KY lists John as John B. DENNISON.
John B. and wife Nancy sold their land in Green Co., Ky in a 1835 transaction. They moved to Lauderdale Co., AL as early as October 1836. Two of their married daughters and families also moved that year.
In the 1840 Census "Jno B" Tennison family had 6 Free White, no Free Colored or Slaves.

We are lucky to have a record of the birth and christening of John B Tennison. The family lived in St. John's Parish of Prince Georges' County, MD. when the birth of John B. DENNES [sic] son of Ignatius DENNES and Lucreasy [sic; Lucretia], b. Dec 8, 1774. at Board Creek in King George's Parish, Prince George., MD. Note different Parrish in the later christening year.
